Leaning on God When Life Feels Heavy

Last updated on January 12th, 2026 at 01:48 pm
This season has been a struggle.
I’ve been thinking about the way forward. I love making art. And there’s so much more I long to create. That pull is constant – a desire to express, to make something that reflects hope, faith, and the presence of God.
And yet… the future feels uncertain. I don’t know exactly how to make it all work. I have dreams… bold ones… of creating pieces that align with who I am and remind others of God’s love. Truthfully, I need those reminders too.
But maybe you know this feeling too: the weight of uncertainty, the silent fear that comes when we can’t see the path ahead. You’re not alone in that.
Doubts, Fears, and Family
The practical part of me worries: Will this be enough? Will I make my parents proud?
Time and again, doubts cloud my mind. Fears whisper. Worries stack up. I want to be honest about this – I don’t have it all together. I’m navigating the same uncertainty that many of us do.
And yet, even here, I’m sustained through His grace. Even in moments when everything feels shaky, this stands true: God is holding all of it. You’re not alone in this.
Surrendering My Worries
Psalm 55:22 reminds me:
Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
I keep returning to these words. They’re a gentle nudge to release the weight I’ve been carrying. The unknowns, the uncertainties… they aren’t mine to bear.
Maybe today you feel weighed down too. Maybe there’s something you’ve been holding onto… something that keeps you awake at night. Jesus calls us to rest in Him (Matthew 11:28). Because peace isn’t found in figuring everything out. It’s found in letting go and trusting Him who holds everything together.
God Has Not Given Us Fear
I think it’s easy to assume fear, worry, and anxiety are normal. But the Bible says otherwise:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
I hold onto this truth as I create. Even when my heart feels heavy, even when the steps ahead are unclear… I trust that God equips me to face the unknown with courage, love, and clarity.
And may this be the same for you. Even when you feel worried or unsure, God is here for you. He’ll comfort you, strengthen you, and show you how to take the next step.
Creating Through Faith
In these moments, creating has been my anchor. Each brushstroke, each layer, each sketch is a way to process the weight of life… To remind myself that hope, faith, and God’s presence can shine through…. even in uncertainty. Making art becomes an act of encouragement for myself, a way to lean on Him when everything feels heavy.
I hope each artwork carries that same encouragement into the spaces it occupies. A corner of your home, your desk, or even your phone can hold peace, reflecting His presence in everyday life.
And if you’re walking through your own heavy season today… I want to encourage you: keep showing up. Keep leaning on Him. Keep trusting. Keep creating space… inside your heart and around you… for hope, for light, for His constant grace.
You’re held safe in His loving hands. 💕
