When You Can’t See the Way Forward

Last updated on January 12th, 2026 at 01:51 pm

There are seasons where hope feels like a distant light.

Where plans unravel in your hands, and the path ahead is blurry. Where you start to wonder if maybe… you’re the problem. If maybe, somehow, you’ve brought yourself to this place…

I’ve been there lately. Standing at the crossroads of “what if” and “what now,” with no clear direction in sight.

Making faith-based art has been such a lifeline for me in these moments. It’s where I return to truth, to Scripture, to the quiet presence of God in the middle of uncertainty. But there’s a tension, too. Because while creating keeps me grounded, there are times when the voices around me question whether this path makes sense.

And if I’m honest, that can shake me.

There’s a conflict between wanting to honor the expectations of others that mean well and honoring the calling that’s been keeping me going. Creating isn’t just something I do… it’s how I look away from myself.

I know I’m not alone in this. Maybe you’ve felt this too… standing in a season where hope feels faint. And you’re unsure of how to move forward.

The Hope That Never Fails

Even here, in this in-between… I’m reminded that my hope doesn’t rest on my ability to figure everything out. My hope rests on Jesus – the One who has carried me before, and will carry me again.

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. — Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

When my strength runs dry… His is more than enough.

And no matter how uncertain things feel, His promises remain sure.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”— Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Creating as a Response to Hope

To me, creating art these days isn’t just about making something beautiful. It’s a way of anchoring myself to God’s faithfulness… of choosing to look toward the Light when everything else feels dim.

Each piece I make during these seasons holds a personal story. It’s born out of choosing hope again and again, even when I don’t feel it. And my prayer is that when these pieces find their way into your home, your space, your hands… they carry a sense of peace and steadfast hope.

Sometimes hope looks less like a feeling, and more like a posture… a simple turning of your heart toward the One who never changes.

He sees you. He’s working in the unseen. And He hasn’t forgotten you. 💓🥳
